Introduction:
Prior to coming to Dilliwala if someone were to ask me to join them in eating Indian food, I would ask why bother? I say that because before coming to this establishment, most of the Indian restaurants I have been to fall into the cafeteria/buffet format: there are a variety of choices but disorganized and messy. However, after coming to Dilliwala, my impression of Indian cuisine has been changed completely. It's my second time coming here and I got the following: Butter Chicken, Amritsari Fish, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Naan and mango lassi.
Food:
Tandoori Chicken:
The meat quality is great. The chicken, despite being breast meat, is tender, moist and flavorful.
Amritsari Fish:
I recommend getting the Amritsari fish as an appetizer because it serves as a good introduction to the meal when coming here. The fish is delectable to be sure but the reason I recommend getting it as an appetizer is because through it, patrons will come to understand what makes Dilliwala unique in comparison to other Indian restaurants: it conveys the restaurant's chef's approach to using spices in a subtle, balanced and skillful manner that is hard to come by.
Butter Chicken:
The chunks of chicken are tender and tasty. The sauce is light, rich in flavor, wholesome and packs a pleasant kick in terms of spiciness. Scoop the sauce onto rice or dip butter naan into it and before you know it, you'll be wolfing both down in a flash: you can't help but crave each subsequent mouthfuls.
Drink:
Mango Lassi:
Upon sipping the lassi, your palate and your mind will say "oh my god...I can't believe they use real mango for this." Mango lassi at other Indian eateries tend to be diluted with either milk or yogurt; the mango lassi at Dilliwala is the most wholesome and purest one I have ever tasted.
Ambiance:
Quiet and ethnic
Service:
All the staffs are polite, cordial, pleasant and accommodating.
Price:
It's reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients as well as the level of culinary execution. -

This is by far one of the BEST Indian restaurants I've been to.
Sad to say, it looks like they have closed their doors to regular service hours to the public for lunch and dinners. They have converted to ONLY offering catering or private events if you want a taste of their deliciousness.
From what I tried before, I highly recommend the papadums, chicken briyani, tandoori chicken were all delicious. Proteins were all juicy, and highly well seasoned. The briyani was very flavorful and spicy! Price was pretty affordable based on the portions we received. Family style is recommended. I thought the naan was okay, nothing special. Their green mint & cilantro chutney was excellent! Complimented every dish perfectly.
Come at your own risk, but I'd recommend giving a call before stopping by. The restaurant was closed off when I came back again tonight. Their 3 catering vans were parked outside. -

This review is for the catering food and not the restaurant. I had their food at a recent birthday party. As an Indian myself, I was really disappointed. You can hardly mess up Indian food if you're a restaurant or a catering business. The appetizers were great, basic samosas, bhel and a paneer side. The dessert (faluda) was also good, a tad bit too sweet but passes for how most Indian desserts are. The main course is where it missed the mark completely. The tava or sautéed veggies were bland with chunks of cauliflower that seemed uncooked. The potatoes in it were also lackluster and the onion was not fully cooked either. The lentil dal was really subpar and the zeera or cumin rice was a bit hard to chew. The staff was neither courteous nor rude meaning they could get a little bit of their social mojo on. It left a poor taste in my mouth. Usually I'd grab any Indian food leftovers but this one I didn't even want to bother. Overall it was just meh.

Finally they reopened again! They were closed for awhile only doing catering so that was disappointing since the food is so good. Well we got curry coconut chicken, some lamp dish, garlic nan and eggplant. All were delicious, service was good except kinda slow bringing out the food. Well worth and price is decent.

They closed for a while, but finally got word that they will be back open soon to everyone with a new menu! I've been waiting for this day to come!!
